Festival of Birds @ Point Pelee National Park – Become part of spring migration at Point Pelee National Park, the special place where birds and birders meet. Fanshawe Pioneer Village 54th Season Opening – Doors open on Saturday for another great season! Come out and celebrate Queen Victoria’s Birthday on Monday with nineteenth century games, historical speeches, and vintage baseball all in reverence to our longest reigning monarch. Who knows? She might just make a sea voyage to the colonies to visit with her subjects in the Upper Canadian town of Fanshawe.
Queen Victoria Birthday Celebration @ Upper Canada Village – Join in the celebration as our 1860s Village celebrates Queen Victoria’s birthday. Sing “God Save the Queen”, hear historical patriotic speeches, see grand military maneuvers, lace up for the 1860s athletic games, help out with the Village’s “Queen” (a hand-pumped fire engine), and enjoy a piece of birthday cake.
Fireworks over the Falls – The Victoria long weekend also marks the return of Canada’s longest-running fireworks series. Falls fireworks will take place on Friday, May 17, Sunday, May 19, and Monday, May 20 at 10 p.m., and will continue every Friday, Sunday, and holiday until September 1, preceded by the popular Coca Cola Concert Series on the Victoria Park Stage. The best views are in Queen Victoria Park overlooking Niagara Falls.
